RADIOGRAPHY, RADIOLOGY AND RADIATION SCIENCE
IN THIS BLOG, I WILL BRIEFLY EXPLAIN HOW THE FOLLOWING FIELD ARE RELATED:
- radiography
- radiology and,
- radiation science
RADIOGRAPHY
Radiography is a very broad field that encompasses a wide range of knowledge and skills. In addition to understanding the science and technology behind radiography, radiographers also need to be knowledgeable about anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical ethics. They also need to be skilled in communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving. There is a lot to learn in radiography
RADIOLOGY
Radiology is actually a related field to radiography, but with some key differences. Radiology is the medical specialty that deals with the use of imaging technologies to diagnose and treat diseases. Radiologists are physicians who have specialized training in radiology. While radiographers play an important role in the imaging process, radiologists are the ones who interpret the images and make diagnoses. So radiology is a medical specialty that works closely with radiography.
RADIATION SCIENCE
Radiation science is as important and closely related field to Radiography. In radiography, professionals use imaging technologies like X-rays, CT scans, and MRI to diagnose and treat patients. And in radiation science, professionals use ionizing radiation to treat diseases like cancer.
